Vouchers in one place
Search by location, voucher number or code, then filter the list by location and status.
App in development
Photograph deposit vouchers issued after marked containers are returned, track their expiry dates and reopen a code whenever you need it.
A paper voucher is easy to crease, lose or leave in another bag. Kaucio gives it a regular place and helps you remember when to use it.
No tapping through long forms. Kaucio reads what it can, while you keep control of every saved detail.
Photograph a paper voucher, then accept or adjust the suggested crop.
Review the text and code read on your device. You can correct the location, address, amount, number and dates.
Reopen the code saved from the voucher, show it full screen and update its status after use.
These screenshots come from a working development version running on an iPhone. They show the app's screens and behaviour.
All data is for demonstration, and the visible code is inactive.
Search by location, voucher number or code, then filter the list by location and status.
The amount, saved code, status, location and other details are available in one view.
Manage the camera and OCR, reminders and appearance without creating an account.
Less to keep track of
Every important voucher detail is in one place, readable, organised and ready when you need it.
Kaucio suggests a crop and attempts to read text, a barcode or a QR code on your device. You can always correct the result before saving.
Choose two reminders for 1, 3, 7 or 14 days before the expiry date, set their time and optionally add a notification on the expiry day.
Search by location, voucher number or code. Filter by location and status, and keep redeemed or expired vouchers in your history.
Open a full-screen code created from the value saved from a voucher. The collection point decides whether to accept it, so keep the paper original.
The current version of Kaucio recognises and stores voucher data locally. You do not create an account, and photos and OCR results are not sent to our server.
After containers marked with the official deposit symbol are returned, a shop or return machine may issue a paper deposit voucher confirming the refundable amount. Kaucio helps you keep the printout's details, find it before the deadline and reopen its saved code. You can correct the collection point name and every captured field manually.
Kaucio is an independent project. Keep the paper voucher until you receive the deposit refund. Check the redemption instructions and date printed on the voucher with the point that issued it.
A deposit voucher is a paper printout that a shop or return machine may issue after accepting containers bearing the deposit mark. It confirms the refund amount and lets you collect the deposit at a checkout or another designated point. Keep the original until it has been redeemed.
The deposit is PLN 0.50 for a single-use plastic beverage bottle up to 3 litres, including a typical PET bottle, and PLN 0.50 for a metal can up to 1 litre. The deposit on a reusable glass bottle up to 1.5 litres is PLN 1.00. You will find the amount on the label next to the deposit mark.
The label must show the official deposit-return mark and an amount of PLN 0.50 or PLN 1.00. The system covers marked plastic beverage bottles up to 3 litres, metal cans up to 1 litre, and reusable glass bottles up to 1.5 litres. The material or shape alone is not enough.
You do not need a receipt. You can return a container at a collection point that accepts that type of packaging. These include shops larger than 200 square metres, participating smaller shops, return machines, and other marked collection points. You do not need to return to the place of purchase.
Empty the container, but do not crush it. Keep the label, a readable barcode, and the cap if the container has one. You do not need to wash it.
The regulations do not set one validity period for all vouchers. Poland's Ministry of Climate and Environment indicates that a voucher should be valid for at least one month. Always check the date and instructions on the printout, and keep the paper original until it has been redeemed.
Kaucio is an iPhone app that helps you photograph a paper voucher, check and save its details, keep track of its expiry date, and return to the saved code.
Take a photo of the voucher and accept or adjust the suggested crop. Kaucio attempts to recognise text and a barcode or QR code on the device. Before saving, you can correct the collection point name, address, amount, voucher number, code value, and dates.
The app does not require an account for its core work with saved vouchers. The current version processes scans and stores them locally on the device.
Kaucio creates a code view from the value saved from the voucher and can increase screen brightness, but the redemption point decides whether to accept it. Keep the paper voucher until you have collected the deposit.
The app is in development. A direct App Store link will appear on this website after release.
Information was reviewed on 17 July 2026 using materials from Poland's Ministry of Climate and Environment: deposit-return system and deposit voucher rules.
Independent project
The app is being built one step at a time. Once our Suppi profile is live, you will be able to buy the project a virtual coffee and support future versions.
